Shorts #5: Divided Loyalties

Sat 28th Nov
12.25pm
TOM THUMB THEATRE

How do you keep faith with two lives that want opposite things?

Six films pull their characters between duty and desire, family and self. A recluse farmer in 1690s Guernsey must hide his bond with nature from a community haunted by witch trials. A new father works a club shift in Lisbon while his wife gives birth far away, and two dads share a fragile romance in a car park by night and family life by day. Meanwhile, a lonely creature craves connection, an old man learns he is being turned into a coffee shop, and Ant, who works two jobs, finds her little red egg needs more care than she can give.

Spanning the UK, Portugal, Belgium and the Netherlands, these films weigh what we owe others against what we owe ourselves.

Runtime: 75 mins
