Margate Film Festival 2018:

The inaugural Margate Film Festival launches 3rd – 7th October 2018, focusing on the themes of ‘outsiders’ and shifting attitudes to people and places.

With over 15 events over 5 days, the festival celebrates Margate’s creative culture, as well as it’s rich past and diverse cultural identity. The festival sees new works from local artists, live performances, debut features from British and International filmmakers, shorts, archive footage, live film scores, talks, family workshops and more.

Margate Film Festival is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led, grassroots community organisation.

“It’s a little bit gritty, a little bit edgy, a little bit arty.”

– Festival Director, Kate Williamson
(Margate Mercury interview, Sept 2018)
