The Cabinet of Living Cinema present the launch of their #100years Tour celebrating a century of European animation and avant-garde cinema.
Tonight they present live scores recorded prior to and during lockdown to four animated films from Czech Republic, Poland and Russia which capture the magical innovation and craft of the continent’s studios from the 1960s to 1980s, presented with unique musical accompaniment influenced by Weimar cabaret, klezmer, Herbie Hancock, and the legendary scores of Ennio Morricone.
For the final piece, the Cabinet return to the experimental heydays of 1929 with excerpts from their LSO St. Luke’s performance of Man with a Movie Camera, rated 5 stars by the Guardian:
