Festival Volunteers

Margate Film Festival is looking for volunteers to assist with the festival between 27th-31st October 2021. 

Our volunteers are the core of the festival; they are the face of our events and the energy which makes cinema feel so warm and fuzzy.

Volunteers assist with all activity during the week of the festival, from assisting equipment set up to coordinating seating, greeting guests, selling tickets and merch, and generally being all-round wonderful people.

You’ll get to watch everything at the festival for free (we can schedule you in for whichever events you want to see). Shifts are usually 4-6 hours, where you’ll get to sit and watch the screenings in-between duties.

Moving into its 4th year, the festival is one of a kind in Kent and the only current film exhibitor in Margate. The festival celebrates Margate’s creative DIY culture, showcasing local and international independent film. The programme explores global issues, political zeitgeist, local and cultural history through shorts, features, live music, panel discussions and family events.
