Festival Pre-Selectors

Festival Pre-Selectors (Volunteers)

Margate Film Festival is looking for volunteers to assist with the pre-selection process of our film submissions.

Moving into its 4th year, the festival is one of a kind in Kent and the only current film exhibitor in Margate. The festival celebrates Margate’s creative DIY culture, showcasing local and international independent film. The programme explores global issues, political zeitgeist, local and cultural history through shorts, features, live music, panel discussions and family events.

The pre-selectors are a team of eager film viewers who assist the programming leads in narrowing down the short films submitted to the festival.

We ask each of the volunteers to commit to watching a minimum 25 films (4-5 hours of viewing) to rate and categorise. You’ll get to see films from first time filmmakers to established, award winners – local dramas to international documentaries, animation, music videos and artist moving image.

To apply, please send a little information about your interest in film to Kate at info@margatefilmfestival.co.uk
